Harvey Clyde Risley passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 1, 2019 at Cottage in the Meadow.

Harvey was born in Gilman, Montana on October 2, 1931. He was the second youngest of nine children. Harvey later moved to Kirkland, Washington with his family where he lived until he graduated from high school. He then joined the Navy and served during the Korean War where he learned and practiced the welding trade. He later returned to Washington and lived in Ephrata, where he met and married the love of his life, Geraldine Ferron.

Harvey and Geraldine moved to Haines, Alaska with their two young sons in 1969. They spent many happy years in Haines where Harvey worked for the federal government until he retired in 1989. He then bought and fished a commercial fishing boat and had his own welding shop where he built and repaired aluminum boats. He was a member of the America Legion Post 12 and also a lifetime member of Elks club where he rose through the ranks to become exalted ruler. He owned classic cars and loved going to car shows. Harvey and Geraldine raised their two sons, built their dream home, and made life-long friends while they lived in Haines. Harvey was known and loved for his stories and jokes. After spending over 35 years in Haines, Harvey and Geraldine moved to Yakima to be closer to their grandchildrens.

Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years, Geraldine, his brothers, Danny and Bill, and sisters, Mae, Ruth, and Louise. He is survived by his siblings, Richard, Eileen, and Anne. He is also survived by his sons, David (Carrie) Risley and Dean Risley, his grandsons, Darren Rose, Michael Risley and Taylor Risley, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
