Lisa Hannon remembered with Love

October 26, 2023

Lisa Marie (Howard) Hannon passed away unexpectedly from heart failure on Oct. 3 in her home in Kremmling, Colo.

Lisa was born in Seattle, Wash. on Nov. 3, 1966. She, her mother Nannette, and stepfather Darry eventually settled in Haines, Alaska. Lisa was energetic and fun-loving. She played flute in the band, sang in the choir, and was an honor student at Haines High School. She ran track and played for the Glacier Bears’ state title-winning basketball team before graduating in 1985.

Lisa married twice. Her first marriage was to Rudy Becker of Hobart Bay, Alaska and her second marriage was to Corey Hannon of Haines. Corey adopted her daughter Kelsey as his own and their son Johnathan was born. Corey and Lisa built a beautiful home together and managed Haines Propane for more than a decade.

Lisa made jewelry and loved the Alaskan outdoors, fishing, rock collecting, gold panning and taking her kids and friends to popular swimming holes. Her children never failed to bring her pride and joy, especially when they both entered the U. S. military on graduation. They and her three grandchildren were her greatest love.

Despite many illnesses and crises throughout her life, Lisa had a big heart and loved helping people whenever she could. It was hard to outwork her in the many jobs she held from being a waitress at the Halsingland Hotel to working as a stevedore in Hobart Bay.

She continued to grow in her relationship with God and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Even while grieving her loss, knowing she is with God brings peace and joy to her family. Until we see her again, she will be truly missed.

She is survived by her daughter Army Staff Sergeant Kelsey (Cruz) Lopez, serving in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, grandchildren Tyler, Haley, and Levi, son Johnathan (Soraya) of Las Cruces, N.M., mother Nannette Howard of Highlands Ranch, Colo., brother Jim (Lise) Howard, nephews Jakob and Joshua, and niece Maja of Denver, Colo., brother Derrick Howard, former husbands Rudy Becker and Corey (Lisa) Hannon, and several aunts, uncles and cousins in Alaska, Colorado, and Kansas.
