/home/cms_data/dfault/photos/stories/id/2/3/15623/s_ERRORA historic Haines home on Second Avenue, the J.H. Chisel House, was razed Monday after being comdemned following a fire in the spring. The house dates to 1905 and was built by the man who erected the landmark Chisel building at Second Avenue and Main Street. The house, which served as a federal jail in the 1930s, most recently housed L.A.B. Flying Service pilots, who dubbed it "The Swamp." Russ Lyman photo.
