About 30 youths and adults were at the fairgrounds' ice rink Sunday afternoon for informal competition and skate practice. The rink is set up and staffed by volunteers. It is about eight feet wider and 16 feet longer than last year's version, according to volunteers. Times of adults' and children's games can be found at Haines Hockey on Facebook. Players are encouraged to become members of the Southeast Alaska State Fair. Donations are accepted to help pay for electricity and snow plowing.
