The Haines Sheldon Museum celebrated the donation of baskets once owned by Mildred Sparks, a Tlingit elder who taught weaving here in the 1960s. The donation was made by David Fraser, an avid basket collector well-known for determining the cause of Legionarre's disease that killed 29 people in Philadelphia, PA in 1976. Sunday's event included a potluck and presentation by Fraser on baskets and textiles.
