Much has been written about our Chilkat Center Arts building. I know we need five million dollars worth of upgrades. Nonetheless, it’s a beautiful, historic building with excellent acoustics, so it sure was nice to see it shine during Lynn Canal Community Players Christmas Holly Jolly Follies show. Thanks to all the volunteers, staff and entertainers who have been involved with the Chilkat Center for all their good work over the years. Its board of directors is managing the facility well. The evening was well attended – a slice of life in Haines. The decorations and recent upgrades in the lobby keep it shining. Let’s try to agree on one thing: The Center is a real treasure, as are its users and entertainers.  Scott Carey
