Students to stage comic play on gods
March 10, 2011
Haines School junior high students will perform "The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza" 7 p.m. Friday, March 18 at the Chilkat Center auditorium.
Director Michael Stark said the class chose the elective project over options including computers and gym class.
A one-act children’s play written by Don Solidis, "Olympiaganza" is an absurd and humorous retelling of the stories of Greek gods including Hercules, Apollo, Jason and Medusa, Stark said. Two narrators will move the audience from one scene to the next, he said.
Thirteen students are involved. They include Zayla Asquith-Heinz, Charlie Henry, Jenae Larson, Zane Durr, Tristan Johnson, Neil Little, Kai Hays, Jordan Badger, Destiny Cowart, Corinna Hill, Alexandria Chapin, Madeline Andriesen and Megan Whitermore.
Tickets are $5.
