Biathlon help will help hire local youth

March 17, 2011

Nearly 50 people braved the real winter weather to enjoy a biathlon on Saturday, although paint ball guns didn’t do well in the low temperatures. It was nice to see more than a dozen youths break away from their favorite screens to participate outdoors and warm up with hot chocolate and chili. A big thank you to park ranger Preston Kroes for setting a new ski track in Chilkoot state park. Many thanks to the volunteers and to Mountain Market and Howsers for food support that enabled us to put some money aside toward hire of a local youth for our summer intern program.
