Dave Button is back on the water.

Button, whose local tour permit was revoked for numerous violations of local regulations, said he’s now offering fast ferry service between Haines and Skagway aboard a 26-foot catamaran.

The vessel holds six passengers and runs between boat harbors, he said. For the remainder of May, Haines residents and their guests can ride free on the boat, he said.

Trips are by appointment and a minimum of two passengers is required for sailing, he said. To book passage, call 360-420-4349.

Button said he holds Coast Guard approval and other permits for the operation. While inside Haines Borough boundaries, he won’t comment on wildlife or otherwise offer a tour, Button said.
