Downtown street paving
May 26, 2011
First Avenue, Willard and Mission streets are on track for paving this year, but other borough roads downtown will likely wait until next year, public facilities director Brad Maynard said this week.
Money recently appropriated by the Alaska Legislature – if approved by Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell – will pay this year for replacing water lines below View, Lynnview and Fourth Avenue, Maynard said. Paving will come next year for those streets and for Third Avenue, he said
Third Avenue work will include reconstruction, new sidewalks, curbs and gutters. First, Willard and Mission will be bid in July.
