Shtumpa begins bike trailer sales
June 9, 2011
Local T-shirt design company Shtumpa is now offering bike trailers for sale under the name Shtumpa Metal Works.
Brothers and business partners Kevin and Eric Forster are selling bike trailers made of mostly recycled materials including salvaged metals like bed frames and car parts.
Kevin said Eric completed a welding course over the winter and made a bike trailer for the brothers to use to carry their boxes of T-shirts. The trailers are designed to be utility and cargo trailers and can carry lumber, canoes or kayaks. They also can be used as child carriers. They hold about 300 pounds.
"It’s just a way of not having to drive, but still being able to do errands around town," Kevin said.
The trailers cost between $200 and $300. There is a standard design, but customization is available.
