Stephannie M. Quinn, 26, of Juneau was sentenced March 27 after pleading guilty to driving under the influence on Sept. 21. Quinn came to the attention of police when she showed up at a residence with facial lacerations. A test measured her blood alcohol at .224. A reading of .08 blood alcohol is considered drunk for driving. Her sentence included three days in jail, a $1,500 fine, payment of a $50 jail surcharge and $330 cost of imprisonment, six months’ license revocation, two years’ probation and an order to seek alcohol counseling.

Michael L. Binkie, 35, of Haines was fined $100 May 3 after pleading no contest to driving without a valid license on April 24. He also was ordered to pay a $50 surcharge. Binkie was pulled over on Small Tracts Road, driving his vehicle at 48 mph in a 35 mph zone, police said.

Glen Zoller, 44, of Haines was sentenced March 6 after pleading no contest to negligent driving on Feb. 25. Another man was on the roof of Zoller’s vehicle while Zoller was driving at 2 Mile Lutak Road. He was fined $200.

Victor S. Hotch, 29, of Klukwan was sentenced March 8 after pleading guilty to criminal mischief in an Oct. 7 incident. Hotch punched his hand through a window of a Front Street bar at 3:23 a.m. His sentence included suspended jail time, two years’ probation and $100 in surcharges. He also must pay restitution, as determined by the state. Hotch admitted to staggering and falling through a window. He had cuts on the front of his knuckles and top of his hand, according to police.

Ryan L. Cook, 34, of Haines was sentenced March 8 after pleading guilty to criminal mischief in a Feb. 11 incident. His sentence included five days in jail, two years’ probation, $100 in surcharges, and an order to seek alcohol counseling. Police say Cook broke down a door at a private residence to reach a woman there. The woman said he bent her over a railing on a porch and frightened her into securing a rifle. Assault and trespassing charges were dismissed. Future contact with the woman is limited to text messaging.

Hunter L. Hildre, 24, of Klukwan was sentenced Jan. 26 after pleading guilty to driving without a valid license on Jan. 20. He was fined $100 and placed on six months’ probation. Police had pulled over his vehicle for a missing headlight.

Natasha E. Sweet, 21, of Haines was sentenced Jan. 12 after pleading guilty to driving without a valid license on Jan. 4. Her sentence included a $100 fine, a $50 surcharge and one month’s probation. A silver sport utility vehicle she was driving was pulled over after failing to stop at a stop sign at Third and Dalton.

Jess C. Contreras, 41, of Haines was sentenced Jan. 18 after pleading guilty to driving without a valid license and without proof of insurance on Jan. 5. He was fined a total of $600 and ordered to pay $60 in surcharges. He was placed on one month’s probation. He was pulled over driving a Chevy pickup westbound on Haines Highway.

Jacob P. Goenett, 60, of Haines was sentenced March 6 after a jury found him guilty of driving under the influence July 2. He was sentenced to 20 days in jail and fined $3,000. He was ordered to pay $125 in surcharges, to complete substance abuse treatment and placed on three years probation. His license was revoked one year. Goenett was pulled over when police noticed his taillights not working. A test found his blood alcohol measured .215. Goenett had two previous arrests for DUI, in 1990 and 1998.

Dalton L. Huston, 20, of Haines was sentenced April 13, 2011 in Juneau Superior Court after pleading guilty to two, reduced counts of fourth-degree assault stemming from a Feb. 15, 2011 incident when police say he threatened a man in Haines with a knife and a gaff hook.

His sentence on the two charges included a total of three months in jail, $150 in surcharges, completion of mental health screening, and three years’ probation.

Edward W. Landry, 48, of Salcha was sentenced in Juneau Superior Court on May 23, 2011 after pleading guilty to a count of interfering with a report of a domestic violence crime and a reduced charge of assault in the fourth degree stemming from an April 14, 2011 incident in Haines.

According to police reports, Landry repeatedly punched a woman in the face, head and chest and refused to allow her to answer the phone during the incident. He said to the woman, “I should just kill you now since I’m goin’ to jail anyways,” according to the police report. The incident ended when another person came into the residence where the incident occurred.

Landry was sentenced to six months in jail and two years’ probation and ordered to pay $150 in surcharges.

Rebecca A. Langford, 57, of Haines was sentenced in Juneau Superior Court Oct. 18, 2011 after pleading guilty to a reduced charge of third-degree criminal mischief in a Jan. 11, 2011 incident when she set fire to an FAA Road home. She was sentenced to eight months in jail, five years’ probation and ordered to pay a $100 surcharge.
