Here today: HFR collects six tons of electronic junk

 

Volunteers Henry Pollan and Ron Jackson haul a broken, big-screen television to a weigh station at the recent Haines Friends of Recycling electronics recycling event. According to HFR president Melissa Aronson, the drive collected 12,822 pounds of electronics. HFR is organizing a scrap metal drive Aug. 10-11. HFR will accept scrap metal items small enough to be compressed in the organization’s baler or smaller than 30” by 48”. Call Aronson at 766-2185 to help.
