School enrollment in Haines this year is 280 students. The “Haines Borough School Outlook” paper, published in 1985, has a chart of the enrollment figures from 1955-1985. The enrollment in 1957 was 283. Our highest enrollment was in 1973 when we had a total of 596 students, with 253 of them in the brand new high school building. Where have all the students gone?
