I recently attended a public session of “Talk Alaska” at the library, a variation on “Community Matters.” During the discussion, the group identified reasons why they love and live in Haines, and what is important to preserve. I was struck by how similar this group’s points were to those raised by the public in the comprehensive plan process. I would like to encourage all public-minded groups in our valley to consider adopting and acting upon at least one of the points in the comprehensive plan. After all, these are the priorities people feel are important to the community.  Thank you.
