Harbormaster Phil Benner with some of the 132 new life vests recently donated for public use by a fund that raised money and provided life preservers in memory of local fisherman Richard Boyce. The vests, sized for infants through 13-year-olds, will go into ‘Kids Don’t Float’ program boxes at the boat harbor and Port Chilkoot and Letnikof docks. Benner said the program had about loaner 50 vests, some aging and moldy. “This may last us the next 20 years,” Benner said.
