It appears to me that the Upper Lynn Canal Fish and Game Advisory Board now fairly represents our local population. Lobbying for like-minded individuals to represent us is a cornerstone of our democracy. If you value our abundant fish, wildlife and the ability to hunt and fish in your backyard, you elect people who hold those values as well.

There is one thing that everyone agrees on in Haines. We live in a beautiful and unique environment. While it is not always easy to live here, there is a reason that people do. It is because of the beauty, the serenity, open space and natural resources that most of the world’s population struggles to find and reclaim on a daily basis.

We can choose to follow the same path toward perceived prosperity and development the traditional way and eventually end up like everywhere else. We can also choose to conserve our resources and preserve our way of life. That is what Lynn Canal Conservation advocates.
