The land at 19 Mile Haines Highway that Chilkat Guides is using for landing commercial tourist rafting operation is a Native allotment. No rafting operation owner or manager, present or past, has ever approached the family of the allotment owner and asked for, nor been given, permission to use the land for any tourist operations of any kind. Private property signs have been posted on the property numerous times and have been repeatedly torn down. No one has public access to use this land. Therefore, the trail to the river will be blocked permanently. Trespassers will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
