Support Miller for school board seat
Last fall, when the school board appointed Ardy Miller to a vacant seat on the school board, I didn’t know her, but her experience as a teacher and school administrator in both the U.S. and Canada and as a manager at the Alaska Department of Education made me believe that she would be an effective member of the school board. Since then, I’ve worked with Ardy on the school board and on union negotiations and teacher hiring committes, and have developed a great deal of respect for her. Ardy listens to what is said and draws from her experience to contribute ideas and solutions to the issues. Ardy’s experience allowed her to effectively participate in discussions as soon as she was appointed to the board as she was already familiar with the various school funding sources and policy issues. I believe that Ardy Miller is a valuable asset to the school board and encourage you to vote for her on Oct. 1.
