A rehabilitated eagle from Kodiak takes wing at 19 Mile during the ceremonial release Saturday during the 19th Alaska Bald Eagle Festival. An immature bird from Anchorage also was released. The 19th festival attracted 245 visitors, including ones from South Africa, Germany, Australia, and England. The festival enjoyed clear weather and good viewing opportunities, said executive director Cheryl McRoberts. Next year's festival is set for Nov. 10-16.
