About 30 villagers turned out Monday afternoon at a Memorial Day observance at Klukwan's Veterans' Memorial. American Legion commander Jim Moran and Klukwan military veteran Gene Strong spoke on the importance of honoring the sacrifice of the nation's fallen soldiers. About 80 residents attended an earlier service at Jones Point Cemetery in Haines.
