Subsistence fishers wrongly blamed
Now we face the fact that our waters are being overfished and we, the subsistence users, pay the price, our waters. What about the outsiders and, of course, pirates, and I use that word harshly. No control of catches made or who else is out there doing so. Many of us lost gear, crab pots, etc.
It’s high time we end all of this. Speak up everyone or we lose it all – our way of life.
Here are a few notes: 1) daytime fishing in rivers, 2) no drifting in rivers, 3) shorter river nets, or 4) close the river until July.
We need escapement, not just kings, but all salmon. Think about it.
