Too many rules wreck spirit of Alaska

Alaska is a land of immigrants. Not too many of us were born here. I left the Lower 48 in large part because of the intrusive, obnoxious, immoral and demeaning rules and laws that controlled every aspect of life. Alaska was the true land of the free. Now you have to get a permit to do anything. Want to burn brush? Get a permit, then call for permission. Want to build a shed? Get a permit. Want to sell crafts? Get a permit, a business license and pay taxes. I find it insulting to be treated like a 4-year-old. Hold your hand up and ask permission to go piddle! Our planning and zoning and borough assembly are out of control. They want to regulate everything you want to do. If you don’t like being treated like a child, contact your assembly member and let them know.
