Keeping the arts alive a group effort

Alaska Arts Confluence says thank you to all who so generously give of their time, money and emotional support to others. Your positive energy and good makes Haines a wonderful place to live, work and raise families. We thank those who give to the community by volunteering and serving on nonprofit boards, business people across the community who do their best to provide the goods and services needed to “buy local,” and those who selflessly reach out to those in need.

We thank the entire Haines community.

For making possible our Art on Main Street we thank all the artists of Haines, Mike and Caroline Ward, Haines Brewery, LAB family, Dalton City Yarn and others for sharing our vision of art-inspired window displays, and Joannie Wagner for inspiring First Fridays. For Fort Seward wayside historic walking tour, we thank the Haines Borough Public Works, Tourism and Museum for kind assistance on new interpretive signs. Port Chilkoot Company, the B & Bs, restaurants, and distillery for supporting a sculpture garden in the barracks ruins and Nelle Greene for launching Fortnight at the Fort. KHNS and Chilkat Valley News for broadcasting our many accomplishments year-round.

All of this great energy has one common denominator that inspires us to strive to do all we can to benefit Haines and help nonprofits like Alaska Arts Confluence leverage outside dollars: Chilkat Valley Community Foundation. We thank the founders, past and current board of directors, all who generously give to the foundation year after year.

Together we are an artful, can-do community!
