The Chilkat Valley News last week incorrectly reported that 843 Haines residents voted in the Oct. 4 municipal election. On election day, 797 valid ballots were cast in person at the polls. In addition, 204 absentee ballots were counted into election-night totals. During Tuesday’s canvass by the assembly, another 30 absentee and questioned ballots were added to the election total.
