Thor's Fitness adds room for training, classes

Thor’s Fitness earlier this month completed a 1,000-square-foot remodel, which made room for a host of new equipment and space for additional fitness classes.

What was once a storage area and crawl space is now a room with boxing bags, pegboards, rubber weights, climbing ropes, cross fit equipment and other gear.

The ceiling is now 13 feet tall and a bouldering panel has been installed on one of the walls. A route setter creates different paths for the climbing wall to keep the routes fresh.

Thor’s Fitness owner Chris Thorgesen said the space allows for additional exercise classes as well.

“We’re going to have cross-training classes, spin-bike classes and we’re looking into doing some boxing classes,” Thorgesen said.

Thorgesen said as long as people continue to use the facility, he has plans to continue expanding.

“The whole front of that building has to be remodeled,” Thorgesen said. “That’s the next stage. We’re going to remodel the front into a juice bar and cardio area.”
