Writer didn't testify against bike-friendly

A point of clarification to the April 6, 2017 CVN article on the bike-friendly meeting:

The discussion that happened outside the meeting between Thom Ely and myself was absolutely not about the bike-friendly designation. I did not speak against bike friendly at that meeting. I noticed the next day that I am the only business on Second Avenue that has a bike rack out front near the sidewalk, and that I personally have eight bicycles in my shop at home. Most of those bikes were purchased new at Haines bike shops. I love biking. I used to race mountain bikes and worked at bike shops. I bike with my family. I am a lifetime participant in both motorized and non-motorized activities and do not feel they are mutually exclusive. I hope the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee can work toward some positive recreational activities and enhancements that make it better for all of us to get outside and recreate in Haines. Thank you.
