Recall leaders need to shut up, step up
To the borough assembly: As a member of a somewhat infamous fraternity, I have an idea how you feel right now. You’ve made a hard decision for the majority of the community that voted you in. And now some of those people have turned against you. Most of your friends support you privately, but not many will support you publicly, though they should. Probably because they don’t want to be subjected to the same harassment. On the manager hire issue, I don’t agree with you but I respect you for making a difficult decision and voting with your best intentions for our community. Thanks for your time and keep moving forward.
To the recall group: Now is the perfect time for you to shut up, step up to the plate and lead instead of hiding behind a recall that is nothing more than a reaction to not getting your way. Start your campaign now, bring your good ideas to the table, have some reasonable debate, get elected, learn how to win and lose like a grown up, separate the issue from the person and make decisions for the community without a personal or political agenda. After reading many of the letters to the editor, being an elected official sounds easy.
