Library to screen Presidential debates
June 20, 2019
The Haines Borough Public Library will live-stream all presidential primary debates, beginning with the Democratic party events set for June 26 and 27 from 5 to 7 p.m.
“We’ll be streaming every debate from any party that makes it on a major network and falls within library hours,” said library director Carolyn Goolsby.
The Democratic National Committee has scheduled 12 debates into April 2020. The Republican National Committee does not intend to schedule any debates, and voted to eliminate its debate committee in May, according to a CNN report.
NBC News will broadcast the first debate, hosted in Miami, Florida.
Democratic candidates Bill de Blasio, Tim Ryan, Julian Castro, Elizabeth Warren, Beto O’Rourke, Amy Klobuchar, Tulsi Gabbard, Jay Inslee and John Delaney.
On June 27: Michael Bennet, Joe Biden, Peter Buttigieg, Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, John Hickenlooper, Bernie Sanders, Eric Swalwell, Marianne Williamson and Andrew Yang.
