Our rights are threatened by fear

April 9, 2020

Neighbors turning on neighbors is what Hitler advocated. This is not the kind of community I want to live in. Hitler ruled by persuading neighbors to fear neighbors. When fear prevails, liberty vanishes. Our rights as Americans vanish.

Maybe the most famous quote from our founders was “Give me liberty or give me death,” as said by Patrick Henry. We have a choice, but we won’t have both liberty and fear. Out of the 1918 pandemic in which 10% of those who contracted the flu died, their offspring became the Greatest Generation who won WWII.

Death is part of life. We all know that, but in times of fear we forget. Sure, I could catch this virus but I could live to be 90 and live the last few years in a nursing home saying I wish I could just die.

You can self-isolate, that is your freedom.

As for me I would rather have opportunity to do the normal things such as going to the coffee shop and visiting if I choose, or better yet practicing my religious freedom with others of like mind.
