In the April 23 issue of the Chilkat Valley News, a letter to the editor titled “It’s about us, not I,” the author responded to an earlier letter to the editor published on April 9 titled “Our rights are threatened by fear.” The April 23 letter addressed the assumed trajectory for spread of COVID-19, originally designated as SARS-2 virus. What the author failed to address is the historically unprecedented cause of requiring healthy people to quarantine. Never before have we seen every household, regardless of health status, to be under quarantine. Without evidence, we are all presumed guilty. This is hatred, and this is fear. This is servitude. “All men die...”

In the words of Patrick Henry, “Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know now what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death!” If you are sick, call for the Elders.
