Payton Johnson, 4, kept one hand on the train bell while waving with the other as spectators drove around the Fourth of July parade. Payton was in the engine of the Southeast Alaska State Fair train, one of the entries in the reverse parade. About a dozen floats and performers turned out for the reverse parade, the community's answer for social distancing and public health as COVID-19 infections continue to climb in Alaska and nationwide.
