My heart and condolences go out to the families of Alan Traut and Daphne Ormerod. Alan and Daphne both spent many years volunteering for the Haines Sheldon Museum. Alan also served on the museum staff for many years, and was a generous financial supporter of the museum. Daphne’s daughter, Blythe Carter, was also a museum employee. Daphne was a talented artist. Alan was a military history expert. Both attended exhibit openings at every opportunity.

I am grateful to have been able to eat Alan’s fabulous baked goods and laugh at Daphne’s wonderful humor. Both of them shared meals with my family, even after illness slowed them down, thanks to our handicap ramp. Losing both within a month is a hard blow to Haines.
