The Washington Post just published an article by Zachariah Hughes.It concerned the alarming rate of Covid transmission in Alaska’s more remote villages; Gambell, population 700, just had 33 cases. Chevak population 1,075: A fifth of the population tested positive,170 people. Our small town has been spared any large outbreak but you only have to look 15 miles away to Skagway to wonder but only by the grace of God go I. And yet, as I travel our town doing what’s necessary, I can’t help but notice the cavalier attitudes of my neighbors and friends. Please wear a mask and take the necessary precautions. We are all counting on you.
