Hundreds of Chilkat Valley residents turned out Saturday evening, Dec. 11 to support grieving families at a candlelight vigil for Jenae Larson and David Simmons, who went missing and are presumed dead after a Dec. 2 landslide destroyed Simmons' home.

Libby Jacobson, Simmons' partner, held a candle during Saturday's candlelight vigil that she found among the wreckage that had been in her and Simmons' home. Walker Blair, Larson's long-time boyfriend, and Larson's mother, Kim Larson, wear sweatshirts that read "Haines Strong," a mantra many in the community have repeated since the disaster struck.
