Temporary power is better than none at all

April 29, 2021

I would really like to thank all the people who took the extra time and effort at Tuesday’s assembly meeting to address the ongoing questions about Beach Road. Thanks to the scientists, engineers, and borough for taking the time to answer questions. This was the kind of meeting we need to have.

We are getting much closer to a path forward and much good information was brought to light.

The planned more-in-depth safety study of the Beach Road area will help affected residents to make crucial decisions about their property, and lives. This study should be expedited as much as possible.

I would like to make a strong request to have a community meeting very soon specifically between Beach Road residents and the geologists. Residents are really wanting more information on geologic hazards and clarification on various possible routes forward.

Also, the borough only has limited funds for maintaining Beach Road. Please people, only drive out Beach Road if you are living or doing work there. And hopefully the borough will do the necessary work to maintain the road in a drivable condition.

Beach Road residents would like power and internet restored now. AP&T and the borough should be able to work together to do whatever is necessary for this to happen. This power installation may have to be temporary, but that is better than the current situation of individual generators with the associated hazards and pollution.

Again, I would like to thank everyone involved in this process.
