Health freedom is important

May 6, 2021

Twice recently, in Haines, I was restricted, because of social pressure, from activities because I’m not vaccinated. These experiences gave me pause and I want to know if I’m correct in thinking health freedom is important for all of us, not just important for the unvaccinated? In other words, are vaccinated people by default really looking for the government/medical doctor/religious leader to tell them You Must Do This or Else? I like to think Not.

That most, perhaps all, of the friendly local people in my personal life are vaccinated is dismaying to me but it’s not something I think ought to be different right now. I’m glad we have a real choice.

What I wonder about, after my recent experiences, is whether being vaccinated includes, almost automatically and unquestioningly, agendas like censorship of other-than-mainstream views of the SARS-CoV-2 story and more, agendas like vaccine passports which will create a second class citizenry, agendas like eliminating religious and philosophical exemptions to vaccines in schools, agendas like removing parental rights so that children living at home with their parents can have medical procedures without their parents’ consent?

Those are heavy-duty agendas. I’m flabbergasted that the above could be true for my local vaccinated friends. I’ll certainly live with however these agendas express themselves here, I’m not moving away. However, please, let’s pay attention to what we’re creating. Imagine vaccinated-only at the Fair this year. Would you call that good judgment and a health-creating action for our town? Good grief!
