Cody Little, of Ames, Iowa, fly-fishes for dollies on July 5 at the Chilkoot River. The Chilkoot is one of Southeast Alaska's most popular freshwater fisheries. With easy access from Lutak Road, the river is a favored spot to catch sockeye and pink salmon and Dolly Varden. Sockeyes can be caught June through August. Pinks swim upriver in July and August. Trout fishing occurs all season.
