We are so lucky to have someone like Tyler Huling running for the Borough Assembly! I’ve been friends with Tyler since college. Hearing her stories of growing up in Alaska influenced me to come north, and by chance we both ended up making Haines our home. She is a learner and listener whose first priorities are envisioning and supporting a sustainable future for the Chilkat Valley. Her work as a data analyst for the state has honed the skills and experience we need on our assembly to understand, communicate, and address complicated administrative and budgetary issues. Her two years in the Peace Corps in Africa reinforced within her the importance of volunteer work and community-centered action. We need the kind of dialogue-centering, non-polarized, future-focused representation that Tyler Huling will bring to the Assembly. I hope you will join me in voting for her on October 5th.
