The Haines Borough gave its website a new look this month.

Staff rolled out the updated site, which has a more modern look and a number of new features, on Feb. 7.

“I felt like our website looked like it was from the 70s,” borough clerk Alekka Fullerton said. “We made a number of changes to try to make it user-friendly.”

Among those changes, besides the aesthetics upgrade, are a more accurate search function and quicker access to popular site features, such as the parcel viewer.

The project took only a few months and cost fewer than $5,000, Fullerton said. A few more updates need to be made, including revamping the section of the site with borough code.

Fullerton encouraged residents to let her know if they notice any glitches or wonkiness.
