More information is needed
February 24, 2022
It was fitting to see two articles side by side in the recent Feb. 10 Chilkat Valley News regarding the approval of the Lutak cell tower lease and the low bird count. Might we question how much environmental pollution contributes to the loss or harm of wildlife including that from electrosmog aside from weather? The noted doctor in that article who has expertise in radio frequency exposure stated, “there is no evidence of serious adverse health effects.” Which seems to indicate he has not done thorough compilation of the most recent information. Current standards are those brought forward from 1996 and earlier studies and have not been updated. A current court judgment stands for the FCC to update its standards under the records of evidence presented by numerous organizations, scientists and medical doctors who called on them to update the limits. This ruling highlights how there has been no scientific review of the full body of scientific research to ensure people and the environment are protected. No federal agency has reviewed science indicating impacts to the brain, reproduction, trees, or wildlife — not the Food and Drug Administration, not the Centers for Disease Control, not the National Cancer Institute, not the Environmental Protection Agency. Review this information on the Environmental Health Trust’s website.
