That we have candidates running for assembly who do not support the Lutak Dock repair, I find appalling. Are we to tell Lisa Murkowski that we can’t use those $20 million now, that we need another four years to talk about it?

The Army didn’t build the dock so Haines could get groceries. They found it to have strategic importance. Deep water ports connected to a road system are a rare and valuable thing.

We can’t know the future, but with economic uncertainty and the war in Ukraine, do we really want to remove a strategic asset?
