Choose local over centralized
March 23, 2023
Though everything connects to everything else, I have neither the language skills nor mental capacity to speak conclusively about the connection between the covid event with its single untested drug solution, the recent failure of two banks in three days, and the grocery distributor taking zero responsibility for sending a customer seven pallets more than the one pallet wanted. However poorly my expression, I say these three are all part of centralized systems with their control grids and we buy into the threat and fear integral to those systems. How do we live not in fear of our health, of our money? There are many natural health solutions, find them, use them! I believe Haines’ two financial institutions are solid; since they're small and local, they’re likely to remain healthy; shall we double check? The excess milk is a challenge though relatively short-lived, that particular mistake won't happen again here. While dairy is outside my dietary ways, I bought some because I support and admire the grace with which this problem is being handled by our grocer. As compared to the lack of grace of that distributor on its own centralized U.S. food control mission; I remember a consistent shipping error with my Fairbanks food buying club, it was as if my UNFI rep and shippers lived on different planets. A local friend once suggested I was a hammer and everything looks to me like a nail, certainly there's some truth as I hammer once again.
