The right for everyone to choose
April 27, 2023
As a freedom loving American citizen and previous business owner, I pondered the Drag Queen show issue, and what would be the correct course of action for the community. This caused me to reflect on our Founding Father’s intensions for this country. Personal freedoms seem to be their greatest concern for the people, and the right to choose. No matter what my personal view on this issue might be, I am not willing to relinquish my, or anyone else’s, freedoms over this issue.
But I also know that everyone has the right to vote, whether it be at the ballot box or in the way you conduct your life.
For the people who enjoy this type of venue at the fair, go and enjoy the show. It is your right. This is how you can cast your vote to support the fair and its venue choices.
For those of you who don’t agree with this type of venue, vote with your feet and your wallet. Every business knows the results of poor decisions. Their customers speak volumes with their feet and wallets.
With the lack of public input on this issue, this is how you can make your voices heard. The fair and its sponsors will either reap the benefits or suffer the consequences, because we the people have the right to vote with our feet and wallets.
