While walking between the library, Mountain Market and the school track I noticed with deep shock and sadness that this entire area looked like a war zone. Healthy young trees and bushes had been hacked down extensively leaving gaping ugly spaces. This area as well as other pretty trails leading from Tlingit Park to the post office have been razed to the ground resulting in unattractive landscaping.

Why spend so much money on making the town look unattractive, cold and rough to locals and visitors alike?
