Chamber of Commerce farewell

To all of Haines, but especially the business community. You’ve probably heard I’m stepping down as the Haines Chamber of Commerce Director. The rumors are true; this time, I’m officially stepping down. I’ve threatened to do it several times, but my love for this community and my passion for helping entrepreneurs like myself had a strong pull! Though excited about what is next, I have a heavy heart as I turn the corner. I appreciate your patience through several learning curves and for celebrating with me through several wins. It’s been a fantastic journey working at the Chamber of Commerce, one journey that has shaped my life.

I give special thanks to Tracey Harmon and the Haines Chamber Board of Directors, who believed in me and entrusted me with leading the Chamber these two years. Thank you for joining me on the wild ride advocating for Lutak Dock!

I am grateful to Mayor Doug, Manager Annette, and Clerk Alekka. However, brief my interaction with them; they model a higher professionalism and servant leadership standard. They demonstrate a high degree of sacrifice and love for this community. If you are new to Haines and hear accusations against these leaders, check your facts because these three have blessed Haines through their leadership positions. I doubt we would have navigated the last three years had it not been for their tireless, thankless, often misunderstood efforts.

Thank you, Haines! It’s been real, and it’s been real good.
