While I am flattered that the assessor thinks my outhouse worthy enough to assess, I am also appalled that now outhouses are being assessed. Gone are the days when structures less than 120 square feet were excluded from assessments. My 4-foot-by-4-foot outhouse is valued at $1,289, which comes to $80.56 per square foot. Incredible! Since an outhouse obviously contributes to the selling value of a house, I strongly urge everyone to build one.

P.S. —they don’t depreciate no matter what’s down the hole.
