Let's elect new energy
September 28, 2023
If you share the opinion that borough representatives have failed to be receptive to citizen’s concerns, please join me in voting for a whole slate of energized, new faces for assembly and planning commission.
Our choice for Mayor will determine the tone of public discourse for the next three years. When asked to “say something nice about your opponent” in last week’s CVN interview, candidate Hill said, “Probably the only thing we have in common is we both live in Haines.”
This terse reply speaks volumes. She really couldn’t think of one nice thing?
Contrast that with candidate Morphet’s “I can say a lot of nice things about Jan.” He then went on to elaborate.
A Mayor who can recognize the strengths and accomplishments of others is more likely to be inclusive, respectful, and receptive to citizen’s concerns, including those who are perceived to be on the opposite end of the political spectrum.
